I actually did his career in the game for the first time last night and my god, those were the closest races I've had yet.
Since he sucks so much, there were many races where I expected Top 5 at most, even in the last spurt. But then, miraculously, he somehow clutches a win by a nose at the very last second against his rivals 4 times in a row.
That shit was so kino, I actually popped off in front of my screen by my lonesome. And the shift to short distances after the Kikuka Sho is a nice challenge. Really started to like this jobber after that.

But I agree with the rest that it wouldn't make for a good anime unless it goes into wish-fulfillment bullshit.
