I think theorycrafters are overexaggerating. I have both Escoffe and Skirk and tried doing a comparison test in abyss with Wriothesly and he is only like 9 seconds worse. As long as you aim for the support you can still use old dps character fine, like if you have Ineffa you can easily still do electrocharged with Clorinde, Varesa or Riden without explicitly needing Flins.
