I saw a video essay that said a big part of the problem with kpop was people getting so parasocial with idols that they start to look at their favorite idols successes as their own

like seeing twice will be on a new show I think "oh our girls got on a new show!"
but that isn't my accomplishment
they just tricked me into feeling like it is
