I got a "new" bike recently. It has a skiptooth (?) chain evidently. Since the only one I can find new is $180, I thought it might be wise to take good care of this one. Which brings me to my questions...
1) How do I remove the chain? I know there is a "master link" in there somewhere, but they seem to be snap on... Do I just pry it off with a flathead screwdriver or something? That seems wrong but there are not exactly a lot of skiptooth tutorials on youtube.
2) Can anyone recommend a good biodegradable degreaser? I think I'm going to use the "jar method" to clean the chain. I haven't settled on a lube yet, either, so if you have recommendations on that it would be nice too.
