“I knew we were kindred!” Saoirse beams with pride at you. “You possess the same Crest as I! That’s why you seemed so familiar. The only other person I’ve ever sensed this in is my mother. You and I are practically family!”

>“What?” You regard Saoirse with confusion. “Don’t say weird shit like that. It’s bad enough these Morfisians have Crests. Now people in Sreng have them too? I can’t begin to comprehend what the Goddess was planning.”

“Goddess?” Saoirse says, puzzled. “I did not receive my Crest from any Goddess.”

“Save the reunion for later, please.” Uriyan says, poking his head out of the fortification to peer outside. “We’ve got to get a move on. We took this thing out easy enough, but there’s still ground to cover, and plenty of enemies left ahead of us.”

Joining Uriyan outside, you find that Oswald’s men have begun pushing into the second set of barricades. They appear to be in near full condition, having left a carpet of dead prisoners behind them. Curiously, the ballista no longer seems to be firing upon them. You’re too far to see what’s going on with the left side ballista, but you’re close enough to the right to get a whiff of the action. You hear a cacophony of panicked screams from above, followed by two bodies being thrown off the fortification, crashing down next to you. Peering down at the corpses, you see an arrow embedded in each.

“She’s a good shot.” Uriyan whistles.

You track his gaze towards the barricades behind you, where you find that strange girl from Brigid. Her bow is knocked, and she lets loose an arrow, eliciting another scream from up above. Her shots are incredibly accurate, and she appears to be single-handedly keeping the last ballista from firing any further shots upon Oswald’s group.

“We’re almost there.” Saoirse says. “Just one more barricade to get through.”

“The prisoners up ahead look to be made of tougher stuff.” Uriyan comments. “Their formation isn’t as ragged as the others. And they haven’t been scared off by the demise of their comrades. They’re looking as though they’re ready to hold the line.”

“So what?” Saoirse taunts. “Let’s just cut through the barricade again. We can be the ones to take out the enemy Adjunct.”

Oswald and his men were cleaning up the prisoners. It would take them some time before they could charge into the last barricade. There was no prize for reaching the tower first. You could wait for them to enter the fray, or you could charge into the final enemy line alone.

>A): Charge in.
>B): Wait for Oswald’s group.
>C): Write-in
