Congratulations anon, I could have written that myself probably about 3 years ago now. Learning Japanese has only increased my love of Anime and got me back into it, I stopped interacting with most non-vidya entertainment for a long time and only after deciding to learn did I go back. It's not only increased my love of the artform (and manga and LNs and so not) even more so, but because I took such a huge break, being able to read stuff like Bakemonogatari and Higurashi and watch stuff like Mononoke raw for my first ever viewing was magical. Rewatching shows is a great way to learn, but I'd also recommend kodomo anime too, half of the Japanese I learned I learned from Toei's nichiasa programming.
