>you can enter the raid as 16 players but the first boss has a 24-man bodycheck
>there are multiple mechanics all throughout the raid in which a single mistake can wipe everyone
>if you wipe, you go back to the start of the FORAY ZONE, not the start of the raid instance
>there are rez restrictions
>specific phantom jobs (actions for the foray zone) are needed
>and you can't change jobs when you're inside
>it's hard enough that it's only viable to run as a premade
>but premades spend up to 2 hours just trying to get all 48 people in the same instance
>even in Japan there are players intentionally sniping and wiping the raid
>if you clear the raid 3-4 times you'll have enough Sanguinite (raid-exclusive drop) to buy a mount
>the mount is only worth 10k gil on the marketboard because it's a common coffer drop
