A lot of recent writing has been really harsh on Archie almost to the point of antagonism. In this comic series (pic related), Archie is presented as the person who is always at fault, always commits mistake, while Jughead becomes his aloof, self-ritghteous jerk who seems to be just there to point out how much Archie is at fault. It's something I have seen done with Peter Parker too
