A week or two ago I posted about how I had reached inazuma
I'm on Tsurumi island now and I think it has to be my favourite island so far. It’s eerie, creepy, and gives off a really unsettling vibe with the slow and haunting music making the whole place feel heavier.
The island itself is also really good at making you feel small, don't really know how to describe it but despite the island itself being small, the fog makes it feel much larger than it actually is. The NPCs and characters tied to the island always come across as suspicious ie some ignore you mid-conversation, and it honestly feels like you’re either not really there or just hallucinating
While exploring, I couldn’t stop questioning everything about the place. Out of all of Genshin’s regions, this is the first time I’ve felt genuine 'scary' (not in an actual horrifying way but more the unsettling 'something is wrong' kind of way) vibes from a place. Dragonspine was more solitary while Seirai and Yashiori island were more oppressive and hostile where as this feels almost post apocalyptic
Seirai feels more like a mystery, making you wonder about the ruins of an old civilization, but Tsurumi is more about why nothing makes sense and why every NPC and enemy puts you on edge.
