I wonder if at least half of those who curse Rust in favor of C++ here have even bothered to do a medium-sized project in C++. Your little C++ program that changes your wallpaper every 60 seconds isn't even a basic project.
I worked with Rust for almost a year, on a relatively complex codebase, and I've worked with C++ almost my whole life, and I guarantee you that Rust, most of the time, will be much better to work with than C++.
Note that I'm not saying Rust is good, but rather that C++ is simply unbearable. Anyone who has spent a good amount of time in C realises this. Yes, Rust is crap, I hate it too, but if I had to choose between working with Rust or C++, I would choose Rust without even thinking.
Your problem is more of a childish dualistic mentality. There are much better languages than Rust, but you insist on selling C++ as panacea, it's not. If you want a good language for working with systems, Ada would be much better than Rust and C++, but it seems you're more concerned with throwing a tantrum against Rust than actually looking for a better alternative.
