SKYMASTER is callsign used during WW3 exercises and possibly will be used during WW3 proper
>major stratcom exercises have 'skymaster' calls on the radio. these exercises seem to vary in intensity but some of them are right up to and including practicing full-on WW3. for example, this hot mic last year came around the time of a stratcom exercise
>"Okay, fair enough [...] right now it's at its alert setting, like if we were actually going to nuclear war."
Happened again today. The ground stations are telling people they are simulating no contact. Educated guess but it's I have high conviction on, but the ground stations are telling people they're simulating no contact because they're pretending they've been destroyed. At this point, nukes have taken them out
My guess on SKYKING is that it was an important callsign but not in the way /skg/ or most people on the internet seemed to talk about it. I can't think of the best way to explain it, but it was like a Ctrl+Alt+Del force shutdown – whether you were on a real mission, an exercise, or whatever, stop it. It wasn't necessarily anything to do with nukes, and all the shit about "5 SKYKINGs in a row means it's VERY SERIOUS" were total bullshit
