Yeah I guess in my pea sized brain I assumed if the conflict was less on his own failings, then it'd come from testing the new friendships he relies on. I honestly thought it was going to devolve into a candidate battle royale and there'd be a betrayal of some sort, it's the most obvious "gruesome" thing you could do to a friendship.
But besides the vague fakeouts with Lust it wasn't really a thing. If anything the familial stuff of Garf and Astrea seems like they'd better fit the previous arc themes (not that there was any room to squeeze it in).
might just switch to the WN again, heard the LN fixed/altered some plot points but the WN is just ten times faster to read with not that big of a prose drop
