>I don't think looking to religion is the answer. Nietzsche had it half-right. We don't need religion because morality is clear and you shouldn't need cosmic threats to be moral. Live the life you want while causing as little suffering around you as you can. Talk to yourself, because God is in you. Listen to yourself without lying to yourself and not only will you have refuge, you'll have wisdom and confidence
He did have it half right. Looking to Christianity certainly wasn't the answer, but then you have the mortality problem, among others, which becomes more ominous the fewer real world problems you have. If you're not struggling to survive, you're somewhat just waiting for death, and if you have no religion it's nothing. Usually pain then nothing. He didn't exactly live happily ever after.

But tough minds need a good reason to believe in fairy tales. I got lucky and found one. tl;dr there are gods (multiple) and it's been strongly implied there is at least the potential for people to reach an afterlife.

My opinion is it's not supposed to be a sure thing because if you knew what would happen you would live for death instead of life. I imagine how you live affects it somehow, but don't know the details. (I suggest avoiding greed, envy, faithlessness, and excess to the point of ruin.)

I was led to believe Olympus awaits me, which I think was so I'd have the courage to accomplish some tasks. Picrel artistic interpretation.
