You make a good point actually about dissolving the ego, but how you do it is important.
Why some people ignore it is they are afraid that it will rid them of their personality, which although flawed, they arent ready for a hard reset to begin the path of Buddha to dissolve the ego and to ignore the suffering of the world because their entertainment for themselves and life is based on reaction bait posting.
But there is another way of doing it, which is to awaken the kundalini, and to surrender your ego to the system to allow your character to be played by, by God, which is interesting but it is another state of an awesome psychosis which includes having your body hijacked by the system to allow angels to work through you.
Because once you remove the ego, which itself is the personality and reaction to the world, then you need to replace it with something immortal, that is comfortable with the world being a simulation and timelooped reality, that can take the place of the ego.
