As a PVE game, Wuthering Waves really only has two endgame modes: WhiWa and Tower. Yet, people rarely discuss strategies or countering enemies - conversations die down quickly after updates. This cycle's Tower, for example, has seen incredibly diverse clearing teams on Youtube.
Shouldn't character strength be based on these modes? Any team that can clear and claim all rewards is viable. You could rank them by clear times in general use cases.
But the community acts like every character is trash. Why? Because their DPS is X% lower than another character/team, or they get "outclassed." People complain a character is weak not because they can’t clear content, but because they aren’t the absolute best.
Seriously, are we playing the same game? This feels more toxic than some PVP games. In Hearthstone, you didn’t see Cube Lock players trash Discard Lock - both could climb. You build your deck, play your way. It’s a game.
Take Changli. I pulled her in 1.1 and still use her at S0. She clears all content fine, and I enjoy playing her. But the community calls her "roadside," "primitive," "powercrept." Powercrept by what? Does the game delete your old characters? If you like a character, just use them! If you can clear endgame, who cares?
I don’t get why a PVE game focuses so much on vacuum character comparisons.
