I finally got my RPAL in the mail (thanks Mounties) but handgun sales are frozen so my first gun will need to be a longarm raifu waifu.

I decided to start researching what should be my first purchase and I figured since I'd need a lot of practice that maybe I should look at ammo costs.

Does anyone know what tends to have the cheapest per-shot cost? I looked on Canadian Tire and it seems like it costs three dollars a round.

Maybe I'm thinking too much in 20th century economy but I could've sworn hearing that if you bought in bulk that cartridges were a mere penny a piece - is that age long-gone in Canada?
