They say that Kyle can, "give Parallax Hal a good fight" when ACTUAL Hal was able to handily keep up with/surpass him.
Or that time Nekron beat White Lantern Kyle just to get beat by Base GL Hal immediately after.
Or that time Hal's ring once defeated Kyle. Not even Hal himself, just Hal’s RING.

Or that time Kyle borrowed Hal's ring to fight Zod and Hal still had to be the one to beat him for Kyle.
They also pointed out LE was as much a detriment as an aid to Kyle. Hal doesn't fumble with his ultimate power forms like Logos and GOL.
