"According to Freedom Network USA, within the first 100 days of Trump’s second term, the Office on Trafficking in Persons at the Department of Health and Human Services halted funding for victim services, forcing providers across the country to furlough staff and reduce the aid they provide over the course of several weeks. Agencies including the National Institutes of Health and the Department of Justice either cut or threatened to reduce funding for research into human-trafficking prevention, victim services, and law-enforcement intervention".
