This is how women exercise power.
A man only cries when he's collapsing into an utter state of helplessness. Because of this, men (and women) despise crying men (even though their social programming tells them to deny this fervently) - a crying man is a liability, because he's no longer able to lead and protect the group. It's a completely different story for women though: when a woman cries, it is seen as part of their communication and that's really what it is. Women use tears strategically, when all else fails, to get their way. And sadly, still too many men fall for this.
