Singapore imo has a made a very poor decision in aligning with the West against Russia/China. While in the short term it lets them gain access to advanced military technologies like F-35 over their neighbors, how long is that going to last? Whereas China will continue to be the economic center of gravity in Asia for the long term, even with the trade sanctions. What's worse is that China is now well-aware of the Singapore leadership's hostility and joining containment towards it and is now investing in Malaysia infrastructure to build it up as an alternative economic and transit hub, which Singapore cannot counter with all the kinetic military advantages it has gotten from being a US puppet.
Not to mention the Singapore leadership's alignment against China is against the wishes of most of the population who still view China positively according to polls, which makes Singapore susceptible to regime change should China choose to influence local politics like they do in Taiwan. Malaysia has made the smarter bet for the future by choosing to stay non-aligned and keep friendly relations with Putin's Russia and China, instead of hitching themselves to the declining US empire
