Daigo even drew him similarly to Demitri in his early concept art. I don’t think it’s a coincidence, but probably not one related to any implied crossover. All of Capcom’s artists at the time shared a very distinctive and cultivated taste profile. Daigo was definitely taking inspiration from Bengus’ characters.
