I just finished Bananza like 20 minutes ago.
It's not better than Odyssey, but saying it's worse is far from an insult.
Being a 9.5 stacked up against a 9.75 is tough.
Really just comes down to some very minor imperfections. The game is wonderfully diverse...but so is Odyssey. I REALLY appreciate them trying to make bananas more valuable than moons, they succeeded, but for me I personally never had issues with the moons themselves, just the way they were weighted towards completion when something like "bench friends" could be worth as much as a 20 minute story focused gameplay section.
The early game bosses are way too easy, distractingly so. It's disappointing to see some of them reused and become good fights, they could have just led with that.
I think years down the road it'll be a tossup for most people. It'll depend on what you value in a game.
Both really great games though, this was worth buying a Switch 2.
