Rome, Judea, Egypt, etc all influenced by Hellenic thought. However some of these cultures died out and some continued. Hellenic thought continues in Roman Catholicism, and Jewish religious thought. So if you are allied to "pagan" ideals, you should see them as allies, not enemies.
We should try to revive these traditions.
