I'd imagine for some people it's just a question of warming up for Ranked / messing around in Casual while alternating with Ranked.
For me, I know I've run into a few /xivg/ over there sometimes, and it's really just a function of someone on Primal wanting to sync. Same thing happens on Aether or Crystal.
