Last time the unit was active was for the Abbottabad raid.
Wagner Spec Ops were guarding the complex, which if Seal Team Six had been allowed to engage would have caused an enormous shit tornado since the Russians weren't supposed to be there (on vacation), and that would have turned a "40 minute mission in and out" into a gorefest. Seal Team would probably have won, maybe, but it would have been bad optics.
The courtyard was filled with Malinoise, and in the center they had a (bear?) chained up.
But the EM weapon made the fight trivial for the black ops team that dropped in ahead of the Seals. The (bear?) and the dogs took the most time, Wagner shat their pants after watching their comrades shoot themselves in the head while being puppeteered, the survivors fled into the Seals rather than face what must have been perceived as some kind of demonic force.
They couldn't show real photos of Bin Laden's body because he was "worked on" by black ops psychological warfare specialists. Turned into a "scarecrow". The guy who claims to have shot him probably did, but he was looooong gone by the time the Seals got there.
In and out in 10 minutes while Seal Team 6 knocked on the front door.

Bin Laden was going to start a nuclear war. That's when black ops units like this get used.
