Meryl Streep loves Anne Hathaway like a daughter
She's so fucking proud of her
She views her as having so much potential, and wants her to achieve everything she's ever dreamed

And yet she CAN'T stop just fucking with her and being an absolute cunt to her, she will outright just shit on her to her face, and then do something behind her back to quietly help her instead of undermine her, and the longer it goes on, it becomes clear it's not just some tough love shaolin monk lesson thing, it's an actual pathological problem she has, she would rather gauge out her own eyeballs than admit out loud "I think you're doing great, kid"
