the 7800x3d is without a doubt better value, but it can depend on what you want. For me, it being more recent and therefore having better longevity is mainly the reason why I'm going with the 9800X3D (also better thermals from what I've seen). I also play more CPU-bound games, so that's another benefit right there. What really matters is the price difference between the two though.
picrel is what I will buy this year. I am not planning to buy my gpu (9070xt) now as I don't play games that much rn (only tf2 really) so the igpu is sufficient right now. Delaying the purchase gives me a bit more headroom to really get better other parts as well.
