“Moving around those barricades and towers may keep us out of trouble, but could very well take too much time.” Uriyan says, rubbing his chin. “Especially if we’re caught. Which I suspect we would be. Reza said the enemy commander was an Adjunct. He’s doubtful to be a fool and would have thought of such a move. Moreover, I’m surprised you’d suggest this course of action. I thought you’d be itching to wet your blade.”
“Staining Mercurius with the blood of these weaklings would be a waste.” Saoirse scoffs. “These are not warriors. They’re desperate prisoners and madmen. If they stand in my way, I will not hesitate to cut them down. But doing so will hardly bring me any pleasure.”
This was a pretty grim thing the Yasha were up to. On one hand, you agreed with Saoirse. You wanted good fights. Fights against strong opponents. Slashing up half-starved prisoners would hardly be worth the effort. Still, morals aside, you were here to win.
“What about those barricades, then?” Uriyan asks, pointing ahead. “The enemy line is thin behind them. Look how they clog up the opening instead, where the other contenders are attempting to flood in.”
>“You’re suggesting we go over the barricades?”
“Go over?” Uriyan raises an eyebrow, confused. “No, I’m saying we smash right through them. They’re just made of simple wood. You and I should chop them easily with our axes. Then the three of us can just charge right through.”
The sounds of battle reach their height as Oswald and his party make direct contact with the enemy line. Several prisoners are cleaved through in an instant, though more frantically rush in to fill their place. You spot the ballista’s turning in the distance, all of which are aiming to fire on the contenders. As Uriyan said, the enemy line is thinnest just behind the barricades, the majority of prisoners rushing into the large gap to hold off Oswald’s forces.
>“Alright, fuck it. No need to get bogged in that. Should we go left or right?”
“Seems we’re not the only ones that arrived at this idea.” Saoirse says.
Indeed. The left side barricades were currently being approached by the group of three Dagdans, who evidently had also declined to join Oswald’s group.
>A): Go through the left side, where the Dagdans are.
>B): Go through the right side.
