That 700k number has to be false. Tech is just swarming with Indians. Like entire offices, departments... everything.
Let me put it this way, if you want all Indians home...in the company I work for you would open the management chain all the way up to and including cto would open up and thousands, maybe even double digit thousands, of IT jobs across all development projects, operations, network, information security...all of that would open up.
The company itself would be ground to a complete halt for some time if Indians had to go back home.
But here's the question...would they just work from India? I don't know...but I then wonder if all these return to office things would matter.
Also don't trust the numbers they publish. Every time people notice a problem somehow the numbers of that problem are way less...it's propaganda designed to make you look silly. As if what you're noticing isn't happening.
