Good news! The center-right party (DPP) that was going to go full-Judas and try to torpedo Takaichi's path to becoming PM finally succumbed to the backlash from their own supporters and ruled out working with the leftists to block Takaichi. So barring anything else unforeseen, she should become PM when the Diet meets in a few days. And the LDP managed to throw off the yoke of the pro-CCP Buddhist party they were in coalition with for 26 years. I hope they call a snap election and a new, supercharged right-wing LDP sweeps to a strong majority, and that the newer right-wing parties can find a niche to survive still, because I like the Conservative Party of Japan (CPJ). Their branding is cool and their policies are pretty based.
