What lore? Its just who wants to blow up the town and 'where's my son!'. There isn't much towards the story or the environment it inhabits. I think the best that fallout 4 did was companion development.

Neither of these are the issue. It really just comes down to Bethesda reaping from its early successes and its retarded fanbase. Skyrim is another perfect example of a game that is mostly barebones with very little substance. Bethesda couldn't even give a decent challenge to its audience with the first puzzle you are given.
