Modern Flat Earth theory is retarded because it's completely divorced from any sort of cosmology that the ancients actually believed.
Even brief exploration into early middle eastern/mediterranean concepts of celestial bodies consistently shows they thought the sun left our sky during the night, either by exiting the firmament or going under the earth as it dipped below the horizon. And this wasn't isolated to the middle east, variations of this model are even more ubiquitous world wide than the idea of a global flood.
This concept where the sun is always in the sky 24/7, just floating around but invisible? Even the ancients would think you're insane and get immediately frustrated with any model you presented them.
