Nijika became the prime suspect after Kita's interrogation. It took them a little while to find her. She knew after Kita got picked up that she would be next, so she hid at local motels for as long as she could. Every night she had nightmares of the boy's gurgled screaming, as it slowly faded away. She imagined his family crying and suffering as they wondered what happened to their poor boy. When she saw the leaked photo of his bloated, disintegrating corpse on the internet news article, she vomited profusely. She turned herself in, confessed, and pled guilty. Her father even appeared at the sentencing, and wept. She was given a lighter sentence after convincing the judge and jury of her genuine remorse. She served 30 years of her life sentence, and was allowed out on parole after a period of stellar behavior. She never touched a drum set again. Especially not after what happened while she was in prison. The last time she was seen in public was her father's funeral. Her current whereabouts are unknown.
