Rome probably had the highest number of fuckable women per capita of any place I’ve been. It’s not so much that they all were beautiful looking, it’s more that they are in fantastic shape and take very good care of themselves. I suspect that a fat Italian women under the age of 50 is a genuine rarity. What a country!
Customer service, while not faultless, was better than I was expecting. Most Italians seem to be pretty friendly people and I left with a positive impression of them. The one exception is taxi drivers. It’s not that they were rude, more that they will try to rip you off if they think they can get away with it. Always make sure they’re using the meter, and in cases where there’s a flat fare (airport to city centre), make sure to confirm the price beforehand so there’s no funny business.
Orvieto is a really picturesque, beautiful hilltop town. There admittedly isn’t really that much to do, and you could see it all in a day or two. That was the portion of the holiday where we planned to take it easy, and that’s just what we did. Just like in Rome, there were Americans everywhere. In this case not just the usual tourists, but also boomer expats who have retired there. I even saw a few of them having an angry argument over US politics. I regret not hiring a car, as the countryside surrounding Orvieto was very scenic and it would have been good to explore it properly.
Food was consistently good and enjoyable, but at no point did it really blow me away. Prices for food, drink and just about everything were very reasonable. Even fairly high end restaurants won’t break the bank.
Overall I had a good time. Would recommend Italy. Happy to take any questions.
