Even though I still think I did nothing wrong I am thankful to my ex gf for creating the conditions that led me to join SGI. I have gained a lovely community of supportive friends and faith in the final teaching of the buddhas, which means I don't have to depend on anyone now. The events of the Devadatta chapter in the Lotus Sutra manifested in my life, with my gf going down the wrong path and I rejoicing in the Mystic Law of Myoho-Renge-Kyo. She fulfilled her mission in this life and she will surely attain buddhahood after cleansing her karma in the hell of incessant suffering. I am thankful, today you're Devadatta tomorrow you're Buddha.
