The best way I could describe it is... DD2 is like a really good B movie: It's jank, but can see that they really tried and got held back by budget/time/direction, etc. If it got more support and focused more on making sure more parts were 100% completed or fleshed out (Disa's plotline, Arisen taking the throne, Bakbattahl overall, enemy types, etc.), DD2 could've really excelled. There's not many games out there in its niche and it's bittersweet that both entries feel a little underbaked.
