It's oral drama/comedy, like how they used to teach peasants high literature through plays. It lacks visuals so it will always be low-brow peasant humor. I made a rollercoaster slideslow in the style of south park when I was in middle school and became immediately bored at the medium and process. I don't know how they did it for all these years.
