It's decent but nothing too special. Health is hard to recover (unless you get lucky and the game gives you a bunch of refills) so you can easily die from taking too many small hits over multiple floors. The general strategy of walking around the room and shooting everything is pretty safe, but some of the later areas can give you rooms full of traps or some asshole turret hiding in the back that makes it a bit more complicated. Sometimes you get random challenges for money used on meta upgrades that encourage you to do something a little different as well. Bosses are mostly similar where you just run away and shoot them until they die but they require a little bit more effort to evade.
The balance on the random items is okay I guess. Some weapons feel much better than others but there aren't that many that I would call too bad to be worth using. Drones are a bit worse and the auto aim sentry variants seem much more practical than the ones that follow your reticle, and there's very little reason to use a smaller shield over the largest one.
