To all the H1B visa holders reading this thread:

Hi.

No, I am not a racist.

I am just a bride who is really mad at every single employment-based visa holder in the United States of America.

I am a fiancé visa applicant from Montreal, Canada. I am French-Canadian if it matters. My case is in the bottom 5% of cases if you were to rank them all from most to least risky. I applied in November 2024. If I applied in any other country, my visa would have been approved in 1 to 7 months.

But, because USCIS and Congress believe that allowing fiancé and spousal visa applicants to pay the same premium processing fee as you are is "racist" and "classist", my visa was delayed by 3 months. H1B premium processing in the California Service Center is directly responsible for my visa delay.

While this would not be the end of the world for most people, for me, it changes EVERYTHING.

See, my wonderful fiancé is from the state of Wisconsin. If you Google it, it can get really cold. Less than 10% of weddings are celebrated between Thanksgiving and Easter for a VERY GOOD REASON. It gets very cold and makes the guest logistics a NIGHTMARE. The same seasonal trend is true in Canada, too.

I went from planning a cute, Hallmark-esque, Fall wedding to planning a peak winter wedding.

You ruined my wedding, and I will make sure that all of you will suffer the consequences of your actions, and I am just getting started from Canada.

I am exposing PERM jobs in Milwaukee, WI, and coaching others on how to do so.

I used to be a tech professional in Canada, until I got laid off when they found out about my visa. When I get my EAD based on a marriage to a US citizen, I will be able to make PERM fail.

No cute, Hallmark-esque, Fall wedding for me? No green card for you.
