So a couple of these are might be going on:
>The pull at mach speed is being brought on when a scout gets pulled to a chain similar to how we use rope techs to reach further than we should.
The “pull” needs to be done within a set time. This would explain why scouts further away get pulled faster to compensate.
There has to be some kind of check to see if it’s specifically a chain launcher because it only seems to happen with the launcher chain despite the natural chains in Caldera and other things like rope and vines are unaffected despite behaving mechanically identical.

If this is the case perhaps there is a designation that tags a Scout as #1-#4 and simply repeats when going over the normal count. This would explain the helicopter animation with Scouts sitting on each other and even the names getting mixed up as the code is looking for the player ID# and gets multiple results causing incorrect names.
So when a scout grabs a chain it looks for the player ID# to then give the “pull” code to and finds multiple results there in sending the code to multiple scouts at the same time and causing the crash.
