NTA but top locations to visit
- Kerala = Tropical feel and ultimate relaxation. Hotels are less cheap, but quality is top tier. Best food. Locals are actually educated and have hygiene unlike North cities like Delhi, Varanasi etc.
Places - Munnar, Alleppey, Kochi, Wayanad
- North East India (pic) - Assam, Arunachal, Meghalaya, Nagaland, even Sikkim.
Thai/Asian looking people living in gorgeous hills. Loads of trekking and boating spots. If you go during Hornbill fest, you can wear the attire and participate in events
- Bengaluru and nearby places = Good development, excellent weather, good pubs. Nearby trekking spots and 'getaway' locations are scenic and relaxing. Can get expensive.
- Hyderabad = Same as Bengaluru but not as expensive (and not many nearby locations).

Locations to visit WITH CAUTION
- Mumbai = Developed, lot of safety, but also has lot of worst parts of urban development in the country. Lot of non-Indians residing there. Locations nearby are scenic.
- Rishikesh = Hilly place for spiritual people and ravers and to get high. Safety and getting tricked into paying more can be an issues.
- Goa = Same as Rishikesh but beachside and more alcohol. Places outside the main areas are the best.

Locations to NOT visit as first timer
Most of North India
- Delhi
- Agra
- Varanasi
- Jaipur
