Interesting information about the casting process of the Magiranger cast shared in an interview with Complete Works:
>Atsushi Hashimoto (Magi Red): Initially, Atsushi never thought he would get the Red role when auditioning. Because it’s a series about siblings, and typically, the Red would be the oldest brother leading the team, he guessed that if he passed the casting, he would be cast as Green since he was quite young at the time.
>Matsumoto Hiroya (Magi Yellow): He hoped to get either the Red or the Sixth Warrior role because those two roles looked pretty cool.
>Beppu Ayumi (Magi Pink): Ayumi has loved Super Sentai since childhood, so when her manager suggested she participate in the casting, she decided to join immediately. The role Ayumi aimed for was Red because, based on her experience, the role that children remember most is often the Red one. So during the audition, she even suggested: "There’s no reason why the Red role has to always be played by an older brother, so let's try to see if a girl can be Red this year."
>Kai Asami (Magi Blue): Asami wanted to be Pink because Blue is usually a male color. She thought that young girls tend to like Pink, Yellow, or White. When she received the Blue role, she was quite unsure how to make young girls like the Blue character, and at that time, she wasn’t very excited about the role. However, afterwards, she fell in love with this color—almost all her clothes and small items are now blue.
>Ito Yuki (Magi Green): Ito didn’t aim for any particular color; just being part of the show was enough for him. He shared that the Sentai series is a "launchpad" for young actors, and with eight years of experience in theatrical troupes, it would be great to work steadily for a whole year when turning 20.
