I actually remember watching a lot of anime on my DS of all things about 15 years ago. I never had a computer for my own personal use since we were quite poor (and only had one for my brothers school work) so I'd ask my brother to do put shows on there. It was basically like pic related but not a 3DS.

Got through Cowboy Bebop, Code Geass, Death Note, Gurren Lagann and Paprika along with like 200+ episodes of Yugioh on that thing. It was how I watched anime back in like 2009 and was at the mercy of my brother actually putting it on there properly.

I dunno if I'd call them nostalgic or fun memories since I can barely remember them but I know I was able to watch a lot of stuff using that method.
