Westoids were always gonna shit on it.
Casuals might've disliked it, but I mean they're the people who think trash like Fate/Zero is a measure of quality and the peak of the franchise.
I think the overlapping FGO players were probably fine with it, not particularly going to praise, just fine. It plays out a lot like a FGO filler event.
Personally speaking, I applaud HSR making this its own story... instead of just relying on endless clap bait where characters do the thing they did in the original, then like wink at the camera to get you to clap because they made the reference.

It's fine, better than collabs usually are since collabs are usually just "Please clap, they said/did the thing!"
This one at least made an effort to tell its own story in the core game.
