1. Temple of Solomon-Temple of Melqart
Solomon’s Temple (Jerusalem) is said to have been built with the help of Hiram of Tyre, king of the Phoenicians.
Tyre’s great god = Melqart (often syncretized with Heracles/Hercules).
If Solomon’s Temple echoed Tyre’s temple, then Israel’s sacred center was architecturally and ritually Phoenician-coded.
Later, Masonic lore about Hiram Abiff as the “master builder” encodes this same link.
Implication: The Jewish sacred project was tied, materially and ritually, to Phoenician architects - an interweaving of priestly and mercantile elites.
2. Heracles = Indra = Melqart
In India, Heracles was equated with Indra, king of the 33 devas (and yes, Masonic 33° resonates here).
Zoroaster (Persia) demonized the devas - making Indra and others into “demons.”
In Islam, devas/daevas = jinn/shayatin = demons.
This shows a pattern of degradation/reversal: the same figure can be god in one empire, demon in the next - but the node of worship/trade persists.
3. Wordplay: Deva, El, Baal, Bel, Vaal, Vel
Deva (Sanskrit = god, shining one).
El (Semitic = god).
Baal/Bēl (Lord).
In Slavic tongues, you get Vel-, Vol-, Vil- (wolf, giant, etc.).
Same phonetic cluster morphs across languages, giving a family of divine titles that can be endlessly recombined.
These shifts hide continuity: it’s the same archetypal office traveling under new masks..
