Over simplification is the way of the future; the future of the bugman. Food, apps, shopping, media, advertising - it's all boiled down to its most basic, retard-level appeal.
Changing the logo is just another way to a.) generate buzz for a brand that might not be getting as much attention anymore, and b.) align themselves with the more simplified and Globohomo friendly values.
The old Cracker Barrel logo had a WHITE MAN in it. Surely you understand why that's not acceptable?
