I disagree.
The writing is not very good, with most of characters acting like idiots through the whole thing. And plot recycles many key points from Persona games, making it feel extremely cheap.
The dungeon designs are terrible. The generic ones are blatantly recycled, and main ones are extremely uninteresting.
There's several minor inconveniences in the game when compared to P5, especially near end of the game when you are killing time for final dungeon. In P5 you could go train in the gym, or do other stuff to raise your stats. In Metaphor to do the stat raising stuff or cook, the Gauntlet Runner has to be active, which results in you taking useless trips to locations, and them just immediately returning.
It also just felt like that developers didn't have time to flesh out many ideas. For example, we are introduced to all the important people of the Church Council... but they they just fuck off at the end without doing anything.
I did like the combat system, but the game had just too many issues for me to consider it time well spent.
