The problem with western propaganda is that it is so deeply believed. Slavoj Zizek said something like this a long time ago. The soviet propaganda was basically unsophisticated. They knew you probably wouldn't believe or agree, but they would repeat the party line anyways. And you were basically free to make jokes about it in private. In today's west, the propaganda is understood so literally and used to justify such brutality that you are not really free to laugh at it. You must take it at face value and believe it with all your soul. Because we are the free and democratic ones and the other side are the ideological ones who tell lies, according to our ideology. To understand justifications for decisions made, you have to follow a hundred contradictory narratives at once. Israel is the crown jewel of brainrot, but Russophobia cannot be far behind.
