Peacock depends on this really dark backstory to try to take her and Marie seriously when her arm things are incredibly distracting and her cartoon antics make more confused about everything. She’s basically if Toby Fox was bad at writing Sans and Papyrus to not realize he should be more subtle about how strange they are and overly depending on the dark backstory to make us think they’re people like us. Lancer does a lot of stupid things too and his character is more reasonable and dynamic.

Only Beowulf and Annie was one of the few times they made the main designs more reasonable, plainer, with a good dash of exaggeration that doesn’t make them horribly ridiculous to look at. Cause I’m not taking a little girl vacuum maid seriously at all. Nor any girl with the worst choices possible.
