People here are doom-mongering. It's getting worse but I highly doubt it will ever reach American levels for the vast majority of games, at the end of the day the Japanese just don't have the same hoarding/coomlecting culture (for a variety of reasons) and the language barrier will always be an issue for foreign buyers. Plus most people want their nostalgia buys to be in the language they grew up with. That said I could see specfic things like boxed Pokemon games reaching absurd levels (they're already much higher than they were even 5 years ago) along with handheld consoles and region-free hardware in general. And of course there are already plenty of rare games that are quite expensive without much foreign demand.
